Hi guys,

Tomorrow morning 7:30am is Fight Fit – a combination of Tabatas, Crossfits and strength work.

12:15 lunch class is a recap of the week’s training – forms, chi sau, blocking, frames head movement and combat techniques. So, a full mixed-bag at lunch, expect a full hour.

See you on the mat guys, can’t wait.

Thank you everyone for your support! We had a couple of fantastic park workouts before the new lockdown restrictions have further limited us to max 2 from same household training. We’re averaging 10 people watching (and hopefully training!) our livestream live. If you miss it you can watch it later as it’s saved in our Facebook group RBKF Live Stream. It’s been great touching base with you all every morning.

Something that we have mentioned in the live stream is, now is a great opportunity for you to ask questions and make requests. We can tailor our classes for you. So send in your requests on Facebook or info@redboatkungfu.com

We started recording for Kid’s Kung Fu yesterday, we’re still working on the format so would love some feedback from parents. Parents please join our Red Boat Kids group page to view the lessons. At present we are not live streaming for the kid’s classes but are pre-recording them both for Facebook and what will be a new membership/course on Red Boat University. They are set out in 3 sections/3 seperate videos: 1, workout; 2, technical (looking at strikes, forms or a technique); and 3, defensive training – so blocks, footwork and self defense strategy or defense focused techniques. Please offer your feedback.

We miss you all!!!

See you all tomorrow at 7:30am online on our Facebook Group RBKF Live Stream and then again either online or at Alexandria Park at 12:15pm Sydney time, for a lunch session. If it’s raining the Park will be cancelled, but we’ll still do the class and you can follow on from the live stream at home or work!

See you tomorrow!

Hi guys!

Hope everyone is staying healthy! Tomorrow morning we are livestreaming a workout on RBKF Live Stream on Facebook at 7:30am so be sure to tune in! Also tomorrow we are meeting at Alexandria Park at 12:15pm for the first of our out-door sessions. No gi required (but please do wear something), bring a yoga mat or picnic blanket incase we do some ground work as it has been raining. Only groups of 10 including the instructor are allowed! So please let us know if you’re coming. You can book online, there’s a limit of 10 with a limit of 10 on the wait list. We do have contingency plans if too many arrive, but we’ll worry about discussing that if it happens. Saturday is a 10am meet. Please only attend if you can drive/ride in! We do not want anyone catching public transport unnecessarily.

We hope you are enjoying the daily workouts! I’m in the process of setting up Zoom to live stream on various platforms, however at present it is only Facebook on the RBKF Live Stream Group that we are doing this (and sharing fly on the wall footage from our RedBoatUni shoots). If you’re not on Facebook maybe create a dummy account just for this purpose, just for now.

On that note, we will be live streaming and recording tomorrow’s park session. The live stream audio won’t be 100% but you can follow on easily enough. Red Boat Uni will release a video with clear audio at a later date.

Welcome to the Uni for those who have upgraded their Red Boat University accounts, and for those who were already members and have asked to maintain their Kwoon membership during the Lockdown, we hope you’re enjoying the Peak Performance course. Please contact me directly for discount codes or access to Peak Performance on either info@redboatkungfu.com or 0421637298

Hope to see a lot of you guys over the next couple of days, we will continue with the park workouts while we are still allowed to, so keep an eye out on your emails for when the next ones will be.

Hey guys,

Hope you all are well.

A quick update from us… we have recieved a number of requests for out door training, which we are keen to do! So given the weather is good let’s all meet this Saturday at Alexandria Park at 10am for a workout. No uniforms necessary. We will meet as a “special interest group” so that we won’t have to bother council for permits etc. Please only come if you can drive in. We don’t want anyone taking public transport unnecessarily. Feedback on best times for weekday training sessions will be appreciated. With the change in everyone’s routine it would be a wild guess on our part for the best time to all meet up on a weekday.

Fly on the wall footage of today’s shoot for the Red Boat Uni will be up on the RBKF Live Stream page shortly.

In addition, we have been getting some great suggestions from you all regarding what we can do for you all during this time. We are constantly looking at options and streaming on Zoom is one of them.

Take care everyone!

See you soon.

FYI This was posted on Facebook yesterday for anyone interested.

Kuen Yao Sum Faat!

Such a great response from the BJJ Beginners Clinic on Monday nights!

We’re getting some fantastic turnouts at Monday’s 6:45pm class, well done everyone who made the first 4, for those who stuck that through you got a super revision last week and a finish! More to come these next 4 weeks.

Kicking and stretching on Tuesday at 6pm is going pretty well too, last week we looked at some great strength and speed training drills.

Beginners Kung Fu Course has been touched up a bit! We’re really enjoying teaching it and we’re seeing some great new students coming through – great work ethic, plenty of questions and all round awesome attitudes.

We’ve had quite a few girls join of late so we’re organising another girls day out. Sunday 6th August we’ll meet at the school by 10:30am (or 9:30 for BJJ) then we’re off to Coogee for the coastal walk to Bondi…which…well… we probably won’t make it to Bondi! But we’ll stop somewhere nice for lunch instead.

This Saturday is the Winter Wing Chun Grading. Starts at 10am, get in early to warm up. If you’re not grading come in to show your support! Looks like we will have a few Black belts going off this time too! So we will certainly need seniors on the mat for sparring.

Kids class on this Saturday will start at 8:45am. We don’t want to cancel their class so please come in early so they don’t miss their Saturday training!

This is also our first year celebration in Redfern. On the 30th July last year, we were celebrating the schools 30 year anniversary, then on the 31st of July we were moving out of Surry Hills. Two weeks later we started classes in Redfern. And here we are today celebrating one year in this fantastic neighbourhood!

It’s also Sifu’s birthday!!! So considering all of the above let’s go out and celebrate after the grading! We will leave straight from the school after the grading.

So there’s quite a bit happening. Let’s make this weekend amazing!
