A reminder to everyone that celebrations for Sifu and the academy’s birthday plus Frances and Dave’s Red Stripe grading are next Saturday (1st August) starting at 10am. Then, the plan is to head to the Cauliflower Hotel for lunch.

The school grading has been moved to early Spring.

Today/tonight’s classes are a continuation of this week’s theme and the Wednesday 7:15pm class is back as of this evening and will be run as a Wing Chun foundations class.

See you on the mat.

Today’s classes are 12:15 and 6pm BJJ don’t miss them! Adult contact sports, as of yesterday, are amongst the approved activities in NSW restriction criteria. That being the case, still remember to maintain high levels of personal hygiene.

Tonight’s class is working on grading flow drills for blue and purple belts, finishing with flow rolling – 4x 3min rounds. Andrew’s plan for BJJ is also working on foundations, so make it in one way or another!

The last Kids Kung Fu class for this term is this Saturday. Please parents, it’s “pay as you go” for what has been the remainder of this term. Usually $18 per class, but given the current circumstances we have reduced it to $10 per class for this term. Please pay at front desk to Sifu Rick, cash is preferred unless you are paying an accrued amount. Next term a discount of 30% will be allocated to all children’s Term payments to offset the forced shut down of classes in term one (for existing members only).

See you on the mat.

Woohoo!

Well we’ve been back for 2 weeks now and the vibe is getting stronger everyday. Yesterday was a hoot, I had a very action packed agenda but we spent a large portion of the class having a crack. I think everyone finally felt “we’re back”.

My mission this Winter is to get everyone in top shape for Spring and Summer, so not only will we be doing some challenging high intensity training, I will alwso be sending out a video every second day on diet and nutrition advice (including meal ideas) plus layers of the Winning Mind.

I’m super excited about the schools birthday on the 2nd of August. Lets start taking names for the grading and the party.

See you on the mat!

Tonight’s 6:30pm class with Vadim: bag work, solo drills, footwork drills, a lot of moving around and staying active. Can’t make it in? Tune in for the live feed.

Tomorrow’s grading is going ahead for Wing Chun. Not BJJ unfortunately, but such is the way things are right now.

Kid’s Kung Fu tomorrow is cancelled. We will decide on Monday how to move forward with kids class on Monday and notify you all then.

Conditioning Class is cancelled tomorrow also. Typical of grading days anyway.

Stay tuned for a message from Sifu and footage from today’s Wing Chun Grading (2 guys couldn’t make it tomorrow so we’re graded today).

This week’s training is all about joint locks. Wing Chun has a vast array of joint lock techniques. Chin Na translates as trap, capture, lock. This will take your understanding of your Wing Chun to a completely new level. You will learn joint locks, pressure point holds, immobilisation and control positions. Plus, grading practice. We had a great turn out of white belts on Sunday so hope to see more from all levels in for grading prep leading up to the grading on 21st March.

4:15 kids kung fu with Amy will be working on foundations of striking and blocks and more grappling drills.

7:15pm tonight with Mayur will focus on shoulder feints with set up of straight rear/cross, finishing with long range kicks and sparring.

Coming up to the flu season and with the corona virus threat we need to be much more aware of hygene practices and infection control. As such we are removing the spare boxing gloves and shin/instep protectors as of today. You can purchase gloves from as for as little as $50 and shin protectors from as little as $65. It’s all about risk minimalisation guys. If you don’t have your own gear you can make your request when you’re in next or reply to this email. Visit www.morgansports.com.au to decide on what you want.

Tonight will be 6:30pm Wing Chun with Mayur and cover uppercuts and hooks, focusing on proper delivery of punches and utilising modified bon sau.

Tomorrow starts with a 9am Conditioning class with Frances…be prepared…!

10am is Wing Chun with Sifu and will recap this week’s training and intro next week’s.

11am is Kid’s Kung Fu with Damien and is all about footwork and front kicks, then more grappling and what happens when you get the back!
