Hi guys!

Today’s classes are as per yesterday’s email. I’m staying in after the 5:45 tonight if anyone wants to go through BJJ stripes or some light rolling at 7pm.

WEDNESDAY:

Tomorrow’s lunch class at 12:15 with Zac is pad work striking combos, basic kicking fundamentals and finishing with Chi Sau and grading practice.

Tomorrow’s 5:45pm evening class with John “the Kraken” is all about arm drags. Starting with a group circuit for a warm up, then onto pummelling, arm drags from pummelling, arm drag to single leg and takedown, arm drag to getting the back and takedown, arm drag to barrel roll and working up to arm drag and shoulder throw and to top it off…some light sparring!

Sounds like a full-on day!

MONDAY:

12:15 lunch class today with Zac is kicking drills, Thai pad work, Chi Sau then grading practice.

5:45pm evening class with Amy is a recap of Saturday’s class and we will get to grading practice this time! and of course sparring.

7:15pm late class with Mayur is kicking in a combat scenario with striking combinations and cross arm, finishing off with sparring.

TUESDAY:

12:15 lunch class with Adrian is all about one of the three pillars of effictive striking – this will be a speed focused class.

5:45pm with Amy is revision of the falling step with the straight left and right, response and movement drills plus we’ll revise some of the drills we did last week and add some new ones we didn’t get to – one from a toe to toe position and one from breaking out of the clinch.

LAST KIDS CLASS FOR THE TERM

Congratulations to all the kids that graded on the weekend! You all looked fantastic! Last kids class will be this coming Saturday, so everyone can break in their new belts and stripes. We’ll put on a sausage sizzle to see them off for their holidays!!

 

Today’s lunch class is Sparring with Adrian,  then tonight at 6:30pm it’s trapping hands, cross arm sparring drills, movement with striking techniques big gloves 16oz or 12oz.

Kids grading tomorrow. Lots of stripes to give out and some inspirational new belts to be earned.

Hey guys,

Sifu is having a great time with the New Zealand crew and says hello to us all. He flys out to Mackay on Thursday and is looking forward to catching up with everyone there.

Today’s classes are:

12:15 with Zac: quick crossfit to start, punch and kick count revision and combinations, finishing with basic Chi Sau drills.

5:45 with Amy: Forms, layered defense combos and trapping hands then sparring to finish.

7:15 with Mayur: Installment 3 of Chi Sau sparring with addition of bon/larp sau to takedown in a street combat scenario.

There will be more forms, grading practise and sparring introduced in the coming week’s classes. The mid-year/Sifu’s birthday/Gathering grading is NOT THAT FAR OFF!!! July 27th will come up pretty quick so make use of all the opportunities given to you.

Lunch class at 12:15 is a combination of trapping hands, forms and revision of the punch count and combos (including partner combos) then sparring.

Evening class with Vadim at 6:30 is striking: chainlink combination drills (hands and feet) bring your 12 or 16oz gloves.

Sifu is currently on his way to NZ! Some great news to come soon regarding his treatment too!

Tomorrow’s kids class theme with Damien is: Complex Combinations, but kicking off with forms and finishing with Sifu’s quiz questions:

1, how old is Wing Chun Kung Fu?

2, according to legend, who invented it?

3, where is it from?

Kids grading will be Saturday 22nd June.

We are closed on Monday due to the public holiday, but if you have access and are planning on coming in to train let others know!
