Hi guys!

Tonight’s BJJ class will start with a Yoga warm up, then grading practice for white, blue and purple belts, finishing with flow rolling (sticking with the same partner).

Tomorrow’s Kung Fu lunch class with Sifu will be working on hand speed development.

Finally tomorrow night’s Wing Chun with Vadim at 6:30pm will be working on trapping hands flow drills and looking at split blocks application in combat.

See you on the mat.

PS: People are already booking for Peak Performance so be sure to register! Go to our EVENTS page at redboatkungfu.com to pay/enroll.

Lunch class BJJ at 12:15 with Andrew is continuing the theme of fundamentals revision.

Tonight BJJ at 6pm is the final stages of blue and purple belt grading practice loops. Introduction to 2nd loop for your belt level. Finishing with flow rolling. No partner changes etc.

Hi guys,

You missed a great BJJ day yesterday! Andrew’s 12:15 class then March’s 6pm both rocked! Maybe you can catch up on Sunday at the 9:30am session. What you missed on Wednesday night was a kicking and forms class.

Today’s classes are 12:15 with Sifu and then 6:30pm with Mayur. Sifu will update you later this morning for the lunch class plan so keep an eye out on Facebook, but Mayur’s class tonight is installment 2 of trappping hands flow into boxing drills then sparring with you 16’s.

Speaking of 16’s… if you don’t have a sparring kit, you need one. You can purchase a full kit with us (which includes groin guard, 16’s, fingerless/mma sparring gloves, mouth guard and shin instep protectors) for around $250. A small investment for your chosen sport. There will be no more “spares” available to use as per our COVID management plan.

See you on the mat!

Tonight’s 6:30 class with Vadim is Trapping Hands flowing into boxing drills and sparring.

Tomorrow’s 9am Conditioning class will be taken by Ross who will have a great workout planned for you.

The 10am is a Sparring Clinic with Sifu (also being live streamed if you can’t make it in) Psychology and Tactics 101.

The 11am kids class is with Damien and will include sparring so remember to bring their gloves and a mouth guard.

Parents, please also remember to pay as you arrive, Sifu Rick will be there to assist you with payments.

Sunday 9:30am is BJJ with Andrew!

See you on the mat!

Today’s classes are 12:15 and 6pm BJJ don’t miss them! Adult contact sports, as of yesterday, are amongst the approved activities in NSW restriction criteria. That being the case, still remember to maintain high levels of personal hygiene.

Tonight’s class is working on grading flow drills for blue and purple belts, finishing with flow rolling – 4x 3min rounds. Andrew’s plan for BJJ is also working on foundations, so make it in one way or another!

The last Kids Kung Fu class for this term is this Saturday. Please parents, it’s “pay as you go” for what has been the remainder of this term. Usually $18 per class, but given the current circumstances we have reduced it to $10 per class for this term. Please pay at front desk to Sifu Rick, cash is preferred unless you are paying an accrued amount. Next term a discount of 30% will be allocated to all children’s Term payments to offset the forced shut down of classes in term one (for existing members only).

See you on the mat.

Hey guys!

As with the latest lifting of restrictions sparring class is back on tonight after the 6pm Wing Chun class and rolling is allowed tomorrow!

See you on the mat!

Such a great response from the BJJ Beginners Clinic on Monday nights!

We’re getting some fantastic turnouts at Monday’s 6:45pm class, well done everyone who made the first 4, for those who stuck that through you got a super revision last week and a finish! More to come these next 4 weeks.

Kicking and stretching on Tuesday at 6pm is going pretty well too, last week we looked at some great strength and speed training drills.

Beginners Kung Fu Course has been touched up a bit! We’re really enjoying teaching it and we’re seeing some great new students coming through – great work ethic, plenty of questions and all round awesome attitudes.

We’ve had quite a few girls join of late so we’re organising another girls day out. Sunday 6th August we’ll meet at the school by 10:30am (or 9:30 for BJJ) then we’re off to Coogee for the coastal walk to Bondi…which…well… we probably won’t make it to Bondi! But we’ll stop somewhere nice for lunch instead.

This Saturday is the Winter Wing Chun Grading. Starts at 10am, get in early to warm up. If you’re not grading come in to show your support! Looks like we will have a few Black belts going off this time too! So we will certainly need seniors on the mat for sparring.

Kids class on this Saturday will start at 8:45am. We don’t want to cancel their class so please come in early so they don’t miss their Saturday training!

This is also our first year celebration in Redfern. On the 30th July last year, we were celebrating the schools 30 year anniversary, then on the 31st of July we were moving out of Surry Hills. Two weeks later we started classes in Redfern. And here we are today celebrating one year in this fantastic neighbourhood!

It’s also Sifu’s birthday!!! So considering all of the above let’s go out and celebrate after the grading! We will leave straight from the school after the grading.

So there’s quite a bit happening. Let’s make this weekend amazing!
