Training and the daily pursuit of mastery has positively affected and informed all parts of my life. I could not – I bet no one could, so don’t fault me for this – say it any better then what has been attributed to Miyamoto Musashi ‘From one thing, know ten thousand things. This is the true principle of strategy’. Now, think about that.
Training is a way to better myself as a human being; plus I get to enjoy the companionship of some of the finest people around.
After the transition to becoming a coach myself, I’ve made many exciting discoveries why I had sadly overlooked as a student. The more broadly you apply yourself, the broader your knowledge. You don’t have to become a black belt before you can apply this, by the way.
I would have to go with Anderson Silva. A true master with supreme confidence in his abilities to out-strategize his opponents.
Use your time well.
