Martial Arts Instructor Profile
Who were you when you started training @ RBKF, who are you now, what’s changed what’s the same? – Just a plain working Mum taking care of my family. After 12 years of dedicated training and wonderful tuition and guidance from Sifu Rick Spain I have achieved more than I ever thought possible. I have gained a confidence I never previously had, improved my self esteem in the process, and now seek new goals as I progress towards my red belt.
Training means everything to me. It has helped me interact with all the other students. Regardless of the number of years I have been at the school there is always something new to learn and it has helped me improve my fitness and well being.
Coaching means a great deal to me and is something I never thought I would be able to do. From coaching one on one, to taking full classes, I get great pleasure from seeing the achievements of pupils who have progressed through their gradings.
Deborah Peart (first female red belt in Australia??) From the day I started Kung Fu, Deb has helped to both coach and guide me through my various gradings and was always present to help and inspire me through all my gradings. Deb has also been my role model.
Regardless of your age, and mine is 62, being able to do Kung Fu and BJJ is an achievement anyone can aspire to. The benefits have improved my mind, ability to think and concentrate, and kept my body strong, flexible and healthy. Never let people tell you that age is a deterrent.
