Who were you when you started training @ RBKF, who are you now, what’s changed what’s the same?
I started my martial arts training at the age of 14. Martial arts training put me on the right path from a very young age. Sifu’s mentoring and training helped me to become a better person in my later years and tought me how to apply that sort of discipline and focus to other aspects of my life.
What does training mean to you?
Martial arts training is like breathing to me. No matter how tough or busy life gets Im still up at 4:30am doing my training, I dont get much mat time now days but I take my kung fu and strength training no matter where I go.
What does coaching mean to you?
Coaching is a very important part of my life, it is way to pass on to others what I learned over 25 years with RBKF. That way our system never dies.
Favourite Martial Artist, why?
I grew up looking up to fighters: Sifu Rick Spain, Benny Urquidez, Bill Wallace, Stan Longinidis, Mike Zambidis, John Wayne Parr, Kostya Tszyu, Mohammad Ali and Mike Tyson.
As a coach and a martial artist we must lead by example and help people discover their own potential, both spiritual and phusical, achieve what might have been unachievable before for the individual, through discipline, dedication, honour and loyalty.
